About the Marshall Regional Arts Council

MISSION STATEMENT AND GOALS
FOUNDED: May 1979
The Marshall Regional Arts Council was formed in 1979 under the leadership of Dr. Gwin Morris, Morris was Academic Dean of East Texas University at the time, and served as the first president of the Arts Council.
Executive Director: Joyce Weekly
The Mission of the Marshall Regional Arts Council is to support, promote, and encourage participation and involvement of all citizens of the region in quality experiences both in the Arts and Humanities.
This mission will be accomplished through:
- Life long arts in education opportunities
- Activities supporting area artists and creativity
- Providing a wide range of quality artistic performances
- Activities that recognize the accomplishment of regional arts organizations and assist in their future development.
