WHY IS YOUR SUPPORT NEEDED?
Your Financial Support and the ARTS:
- Membership contributions help pay for administrative and overhead costs that cannot be covered by other sources, but that are necessary for the delivery of programs and services
- As a nonprofit, tax-exempt (c)(3) organization, the Arts Council depends on the membership contributions of individuals, businesses, and other organizations for approximately 16% of its annual budget. Cultural programs normally do not earn enough revenue to pay for themselves, and can be very expensive to produce and present. State funding for the Arts Council's Grants Program must be matched at the local level.
- The Arts Council provides some services free of charge.
